Impression Blocks

Impression blocks help assess the top of a fish or other obstruction before selecting a retrieval tool. Contact with the obstruction leaves an impression in the tool’s deformable face, which can be examined at surface for clues about its shape, position and condition. This information supports planning the next stage of the fishing operation.
