Fishing magnets recover small steel fragments and other magnetically responsive debris from the wellbore, including loose pieces that are difficult to engage with conventional fishing tools.

String magnets run as part of the tool string to collect magnetically responsive debris while allowing fluid circulation. Junk baskets provide another option for loose-junk recovery.
